With Canada celebrating its 150th anniversary of Confederation, owner of Dominion Cigar Steve Ricker, wanted to commemorate this occasion with a new limited edition cigar.
In 2016, Steve had the opportunity to work at Ernesto Carrillo’s factory, Tabacalera La Alianza in the Dominican Republic, on his yet to be released Dominion Classic project. Steve had such a great experience working with Ernesto and his people, that doing his new Confederation project there just made sense. Steve mentioned “When I work on a project at Tabacalera La Alianza, they give me the freedom and access to all their resources at my disposal, including their fine selections of tobaccos. I’m beyond happy with the finale Confederation blend, and look forward to its release in June”
The Confederation blend is made up from some of the finest aged tobaccos, consisting of at least four years of age prior to rolling. It incorporates a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and all fillers from Nicaragua. The result is a cigar with lots of flavour, highlighting notes of roasted coffee and nut.
